GeoPro Privacy Policy

GeoPro (“the App”) helps geology and drilling professionals create field reports and VES (Vertical Electrical Sounding) curve models, store them offline, and export outputs such as PDF/CSV/TXT. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App may process and how it is handled.

1) Data We Process

GeoPro is designed to work offline-first. In general, your data is stored locally on your device.

The App may process the following types of data:

A) Data You Enter

  • Project/report details (project name, operator/team name, drilling machine details, drill bit type, depth, soil/lithology notes, events, etc.)

  • VES measurement data (e.g., AB/2, AB, MN or MN/2, current, attenuation, scale readings, calculated values such as ΔV, R (Ω), K, ρa, etc.)

  • Notes, descriptions, and other text you choose to save

B) Photos You Add

  • Photos captured in the field and attached to reports or VES models (optional)

  • Optional captions you provide

C) Location Data (Optional)

If you allow location access, GeoPro may capture:

  • GPS coordinates (latitude/longitude)

  • Timestamp and (when available) accuracy and altitude/elevation

You can use the App without location access by entering location details manually.

D) Files You Import/Export

  • Files you choose to import (e.g., TXT/CSV/XLSX) for VES data

  • Files the App generates for export (PDF/CSV/TXT/ZIP)

2) What We Do NOT Collect

GeoPro does not collect:

  • Your name, email, phone number (unless you voluntarily include it inside your own notes)

  • Contacts, messages, or call history

  • Precise background location tracking

  • Advertising identifiers for ad targeting

3) How Your Data Is Stored

  • Your reports, VES models, photos, and generated exports are stored locally on your device.

  • GeoPro does not require an account to use core features.

4) Data Sharing

GeoPro does not sell or rent your personal data.

The App only shares data when you choose to export or share it (for example, sending a PDF/CSV/TXT/ZIP via email, messaging apps, cloud drives, etc.). In these cases, sharing is handled by iOS system share features and the destination service’s privacy practices apply.

5) Permissions

GeoPro may request the following permissions:

  • Camera: to capture photos for reports/models (optional)

  • Photo Library: to attach existing photos (optional)

  • Location (When In Use): to save GPS coordinates for a report/model (optional)

  • Files/Storage Access: to import or export files you select (optional)

You can deny any permission; some features may be limited if you do.

6) Retention and Deletion

  • GeoPro keeps your data on your device until you delete it within the App or uninstall the App.

  • Deleting the App generally removes locally stored data from that device.

7) Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data. However, no method of storage is 100% secure. We recommend protecting your device with a passcode/biometric lock and keeping iOS up to date.

8) Children’s Privacy

GeoPro is intended for professional field use and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will reflect changes. Continued use of the App after updates means you accept the updated policy.
